I'm running a Spelljammer campaign, and looking to include some ship to ship communication close to Star Trek hailing. Basically, one ship can send another ship (willing or unwilling) some sort of magic that would create both a visual and auditory illusion of the person initiating the communication, and the receiver would also be able to respond and be seen. Is there any system like that in D&D or Spelljammer? If not, what in your opinion of the best way to accomplish this? A spell? Magic item? I would love to know everyone's thoughts!
