Welcome to the UPGRADES 2.0 SHARE YOUR BUILD MEGA-THREAD (7/20/26), a place where everyone can both share their builds AND request guidance and advice regarding their own personal build combos. This Mega-Thread will function in the same manner that our other Mega-Threads do, it will be pinned at the top of the subreddit, and will refresh each week to stay decluttered and to make sure that every pilot has a fair chance to showcase their builds and ask for advice from others. Experienced pilots - WE ARE COUNTING ON YOU AS WELL to help answer questions and give tips to other pilots that come here for advice.

IMPORTANT: If you would like to share an image or screenshot of your build, only ONE IMAGE is permitted per aircraft build. You must fit everything on one single image - and you can do this easily via the www.playmetalstorm.com upgrades build tool!!! Simply navigate to the website and log in, select the "upgrades" tab, replicate your build in the build tool, and click "share build" in the upper-right hand part of the screen when finished. This will allow you to download one single image of your entire build (engines, avionics, fuselage, weapons, etc) in either normal or compact form: (I recommend the compact version!) I have added images to help you navigate this process. Bonus: next to the share build button, there is an info (i) button, and if you click it, you will find an option to go to the stat glossary: where every single statistic is defined (in case you were confused about anything).

The purpose of this megathread is to help eliminate the numerous "which plane should I get" posts and to make it easy and convenient for new and experienced pilots alike looking for guidance by creating a single space for all of your questions to be answered! Any inquiries relating to "which plane should I unlock" should be asked in this thread. Friendly reminder that all posts relating to this question outside of this megathread will be locked and redirected here.

Veteran pilots, please provide your input and expertise regarding stats comparisons, strengths and weaknesses, as well as your personal opinions and wisdom regarding the aircraft being asked about. We can't do it without you!

When asking the infamous question "which plane should I unlock" please first make sure your questions haven't been answered in the thread already. Please be specific in your inquiries and please do not just simply give us the names of the aircraft you're inquiring about. Provide us with information such as what traits you value in an aircraft, what your playstyle is, what specific questions you have about the aircraft in question, what your strengths and weaknesses are, and what platform you use. Please read and follow these guidelines so we can answer your questions as thoroughly as possible. If you're a newer player and are still figuring some of these questions out yourself, that's fine, but please give us something to work with so that we can help you to the best of our ability.

Please keep reporting matchmaker issues and anything weird you might come across.

This, and I've heard reports of some other issues. I've noticed a few things myself. Please don't just think they rolled out a broken update that they aren't trying to fix. They know there's some stuff going on, and they are working on it. I never expect things to work 100% according to plan, for anything, ever. Just give it some time. Sometimes issues arise that can't even be discovered until the update goes live.

Somebody showed me this wiki page and it changed everything for me about this game LOL. I have always wondered when calculating percentages of combinations for passive/special abilities and mods, etc. My math was always off. Not by a huge factor, but enough to make me question if my IQ was less than three digits (it probably still is) I've tried multiple ways of calculating stuff, multiplicative, additive, I've tried different fancy formulas, and I've always just been off by a little bit. It was always close, but never on the money. Apparently they use this diminishing returns formula. No wonder. Good afternoon pilots, I just wanted to say I hope everybody has a fantastic Fourth of July weekend! Thank you all so much for making this community so great! For those of you who do not reside in the US, I hope you all have a fantastic weekend as well! Please be safe, PLEASE do not drink and drive - we have unfortunately lost several great friends and community members this year to drunk driving, I absolutely do not want to lose anyone else. Make good decisions, have fun, hang out with family and friends, and I'll see you in the skies!!!

We will have a monthly mega-thread for recruitment to ensure squads posting are currently looking for pilots.

For anyone posting recruitments, a little criteria to make it easier for the pilots to find you, and so no one's time is wasted.

Squad Code

In-game person responsible for recruitment

Requirements to join (minimum trophies, comms y/n, etc)

Region (list what region your squad mainly plays in).

For any squads posting in this thread, you will need to repost in the new recruitment mega-thread posted the first Monday of the month.
