Help with van de graaff generator

My friend and I are building a van de graaff generator for a science fair, inspired in the Plasma Chanel video, using nylon and PTFE free rooling tubes, and a belt made of neoprene swiming suit fabric. After the first inicial test, we could not make any spark or static at all. Is there any problems with the materials? Or any advice from someone experienced with this kind of build?

Too much lag

I’m in ATM10 7.0 and I think I have a good PC, I5-10400 RTX3070ti and 32gb of ram, but the game feels so laggy and lowering the fps all the time. I have some big farms and sistems, but nothing that makes me feel that is the cause. Is there a way to optimise my gameplay? Building big farms around my base or in compact machines?
