Welcome to r/RenovationTO - pls Read First!
Hey neighbours! I’m one of the founding mods of r/RenovationTO.
Welcome to our new local spot for Toronto/GTA homeowners, renters, DIYers, contractors, designers, and anyone dealing with renovations.
Whether you’re planning a full gut job, fixing up an old semi, updating a condo, dealing with permits, looking for contractor recommendations, comparing quotes, or just trying to figure out why everything in Toronto/GTA costs what it does - this is the place to ask, share, and learn.
What to post here:
Share your before-and-after photos, project updates, contractor experiences, permit questions, budget breakdowns, material finds, design ideas, DIY wins, renovation headaches, and anything else that could help someone else in the city.
The goal is to keep this community friendly, practical, and local. Toronto renovations come with their own challenges - older homes, tight lots, condo rules, heritage issues, weather, bylaws, parking, permits, and of course, pricing - so having a place to compare notes should help all of us.
To get things started:
- Join our community and introduce yourself.
- Post a renovation question, photo, or project you’re working on.
- Invite anyone you know in Toronto who’s renovating, planning to renovate, or works in the industry.
We’re also looking for a few more moderators as the community grows. If you’re interested in helping build this space, feel free to reach out.
Thanks for being part of the first wave here. Let’s make r/RenovationTO a useful, welcoming, and genuinely local resource =)
