Is anyone here using QGIS for geotech work?

We’re trying to get a feel for how common it is in practice, especially around slope stability studies, topo, boreholes, geology, groundwater, cross-sections etc.

Would be interested to hear how people are using it.

QGIS to 2D and 3D slope stability workflow

Hi r/QGIS

Thought this might be useful for geotechs using QGIS for slope work.

We’ve recently added direct QGIS project import into TSLOPE, so terrain, geological surfaces, boreholes and related project data can be brought directly into a 3D slope stability model.

The main goal was to reduce the amount of rebuilding/rework between GIS and geotechnical software.

Once imported, you can generally get a 3D slope model up and running in minutes and directly compare 2D and 3D analyses.

Curious if others here are using QGIS in similar geotech/mining workflows, and how you’re currently handling the GIS to analysis side of things.
