plastic degradation on the section

Has anybody else noticed plastic degradation on the Lamy sections of a Safari or a Joy?

I have an older Lamy Joy AL Set I bought maybe about 25 years ago. Yesterday I noticed that the handle / section became sticky and rubberlike, exactly how old plastic parts tend to get as soon as the plasticiser starts to disintegrate.

Ist this a common problem with older Lamys? Especially Safaris?

My Safari Al-Star does not have this problem and is around the same age.

What disappoints the most with this pen is, that despite the name (Joy AL) only the cap is aluminium.

The section ist the section of a usual Safari and there is no aluminium in the back part at all. But that's old news.

Name of the Ink

Last year I had bought some Lamy Cardridges of a brighter blue than the usual Lamy blue.

As i liked the colour, i wanted to buy a bottle later - but noticed I got it wrong.

I think I confused turmaline and turquoise,

but I am not completly sure.

First paragraph was written with the bottle,

second paragraph with the cardridge.

The bottle I bought was (acordding to the Lamy delivery note ) turquoise. Are the cardriges then turmaline? Or is this even another colour?

Wooden pen tray

My wife just finished the wooden pen and ink tray, she promised to carve last Christmas.

I am really happy how it turned out with the dark chestnut. As it does not have enough space for all of my pens, I guess I need to commission another, similar one for the next occasion 😁

Maybe then in maple..
