I was wondering if anybody has experience with weaving stinging nettles into baskets?

I volunter as a blacksmith🔥⚒️ at a high medieval (1210-1260) castle in my area and we would have a huge amount of large grown (1.5 - 2m) stinging nettles available on our premises. I know that nettles have been used a lot for their fibres and am familiar with the process for extracting those, but I have 0 experience with basket weaving at all.😅

Can anybody tell me how I would have to treat them for basket weaving?

I imagine something like cutting, drying, soaking, weaving?
