Funniest description of how drain removal feels?

lol you guys nothing could have prepared me for my two week post op appointment today where I got my drains removed. I thought it would hurt. I get Brazilians weekly and wasn’t too worried….

But instead it felt like:

My skin was reverse slurping spaghetti???

lol why did no one prepare me!!! How did it feel for you guys? Can you give me a funny description?

I lowkey think this will also help prep people who get it done in the future lol

Before & After so far

I haven’t taken any recent photos. Surgery was May 5th. First four photos in red panties are pre-surgery. As you can see I had a huge belly from an seperation and loose skin. When I laid down though, my stomach went flat. The fifth photo is me laying down day after surgery in hospital still. The last two photos were before and after my first shower one week post op. I haven’t taken anymore photos yet without my binder because honestly I get scared not wearing it and I never take it off unless my sister (who is surgical nurse) is around.

I’ve had five kids including twins all within five years. I had really bad ab seperation and an umbilical hernia. I’m hoping to retake more after pictures as time progresses.

I’m 5’7” and 135 pounds before surgery. 130 pounds now. Doctor said it there was very little fat in the skin she removed. It was an extended tummy tuck here in Az. I love my surgeon and my results so far.

Anyone else foregoing lymphatic massages?

Super unpopular opinion here……

This already cost so much and I’m going to stay in compression forever. I eat healthy and I feel like I’m barely swollen. Idk. I just feel like the lymphatic massages are kind of a scam. And even if they do work, won’t my own body naturally get rid of the swelling on its own eventually? It’ll just take longer..?

Idk anyone else feel the same?

Ab muscles 1week po?

Okay so I don’t have a picture, which sucks for everyone, but I can feel and peak inside at least a four pack when I stick my hand through my binder. I’m too scared to take the binder off until my two week appointment. Is it just because they’re swollen and extra hard?

I used to lift weights, but I haven’t worked out in five months. I just stay busy with my kids and I often carry around my twins that are 35 pounds each.

I’m 5’7” and I was 135 pounds before surgery. I’m 130 pounds now. I feel like I’m only swollen by my hips where my binder ends. Not sure how much skin she removed but I know I had some of the worst DR she had ever seen.

Am I being delusional to think I’ll actually have abs showing? I haven’t since I was 20. I’m 35 now and have had five kids.

So so bored

I’m one week post op, and literally so bored. All I can do is lay around all day and take little walks around the house. I’ve spent all my wake time doom scrolling, reading, and watching tv. I miss my husband and kids, but literally am hiding from them at my parents’ house because they’ll jump all over me otherwise. I still have my drains and I’m walking hunched over. This entire thing is just going to so slow.

How are you guys coping with the boredom?

Getting in and out of bed

Is sooo hard!! I’m trying to roll like a log on my side but I still feel my abdominal muscles hurting. Also it’s hard to go on my sides because I had flank lipo. Am I going to mess up my muscle repair? I keep reading conflicting things- that getting up/down can mess it up or only huge impacts can mess it up. Which one is it???

I am so excited and nervous!!
Excited for my huge pregnant looking belly from DR to be fixed and for the skin to leave and be able to look hot again!
Nervous for how my little kids and hubby will fare without me. And nervous that I won’t achieve the best results/look I am picturing in my mind. I want to look lean and beautiful and smooth and I’m so worried I’ll still look pregnant or not tight enough.

Here is a before picture of me sitting down at school pick up today. As you can see, I’m pretty thin, but with a big belly. I constantly get asked if I’m pregnant. Like almost every single day. Usually by little kids, but also by older people. I think they feel comfortable asking since the rest of me is thin and honestly I just look pregnant lol. I’m 5’7” and 130-135 pounds.

I’ll take a ton of before pictures tomorrow in all sorts of positions and angles because I loved seeing those before and afters posted on here.

Update 6:25 pm: just woke, my throat and incision are burning. I have to pee but too tired my surgery didn’t start until 11:40

Update 9:08 didn’t realize I still had a catheter in. Very grateful that I don’t have to get up. I have the tubes around my calves that compressed my muscles so no walking yet either. I stil have my IV for fluids and my factor 8 stuff. My abs feel like I did a million crunches and my incision feels like it’s burning. My throat does too. They just gave me morphine to help until my other meds arrive. It’s super boring and I’m trying to sleep, but I can’t. My surgeon will stop by in the morning. I can’t wait to ask her some questions. Like how big was my gap and hernia and the skin removed. I won’t get to see my tummy until tomorrow. I haven’t eaten since last night so I’m very hungry.

  1. What should I have at my bedside for post surgery?

  2. Should I pack a bag if I’m staying overnight? I was just thinking a phone charger and another set of clothes to leave in?

  3. What is the order and timeline of what I wear? Like I’ll leave the hospital in a surgical binder with drains? And then what happens…? Switch to a faja when drains come out?

  4. Scar stuff- when the doctors surgical tape comes off, can I put my own tape on it? When is that usually? When can I start scar gel or silicone gel ?

  5. When can you usually first shower?
