Difficulties With SD Card
Hey there!
I want to apologize in advance if my flair is incorrect, as I, so far, am unable to know if my problem is software or hardware in nature.
Basically I suffer from what seems to be an old problem of my SD card not being able to be formatted by my deck, which either says it failed the verification step, or if it's disabled, that it failed to format it.
Thing is, the fixes I found online do not work, I tried going into the Desktop Mode "SD card manager" and formatting then making a library there, and formatting it with my Switch lite.
The second method simply failed, but the first one at least worked temporarily, the problem is if I dare shut down or sleep my Deck, it won't recognize the card anymore, even if I go in Desktop mode. For now I have a workaround that seems reliable of using the Desktop Mode's file manager and launching the game from there, but I would kinda like if there was a way to not need to do that.
Additional info, I'm fairly sure my card is an off-brand one since I bought it from Amazon and I never heard the company's name anywhere. It still works though (on other devices.) I also have a smaller, older card I used previously which didn't trigger this issue, a SanDisk.
My first question is, from how I (badly, sorry,) described it, is there something I can do to make my Deck finally recognize the damned card? Since it seems I can launch games from the File Explorer, it won't be the end of the world if I can't, but I'm scared it could mess up again, and if I don't have Internet available if it does, I'll be out of luck (and installing on the Deck is not a good option as it is the 64gb model, one game + the proton versions fill it up almost fully.)
Secondly, in the future, what kind of cards can I buy that won't trigger any issues? I've seen recommendation online of the SanDisk brand, but also reports that they suffer the same issue, so I'm not sure what to do, but since the size I want (1tb, but thank God they reduced ARK's size) is "slightly" pricey, and other normal sounding brands are too, I'm scared of triggering this issue again as I'd rather avoid a cycle of returning and re-ordering cards ad aeternam.
P.S.: The problematic card is actually this one: [https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0H5KC7M6F ]
