Slingshot action?

Just checked up on where we are with these twin typhoons, and I was surprised to find No.8 well ahead of its predicted position, currently sitting off the coast of Miyagi Prefecture.

Given their anti-clockwise spin, did the stronger No.7 essentially 'slingshot' it off to the east?

Thick sea fog in Southern Yokohama

We're less than 10km as the crow flies from Yuigahama, but the hills at the back of Kamakura usually shield us from anything overtly nautical. Tonight there's a very thick fog with a strong scent of the ocean. Takes me back to my hometown in Australia, actually.

Curious what meteorological factors might have given rise to this unusual phenomenon.
