Just a little vid I did from watching Champions League qualifiers last week, whereby four teams lost and dropped directly into the League draw with us. I watched all games and summarised them and what they play like here with a view to what might happen this week.

Sunderland returns from their USA tour and went to northern France to take on French Ligue 1 runners up RC Lens is their toughest pre-season game yet. With the full squad available to choose from, Regis Le Bris handed a debut to Thomas Muenier and Captain Granit Xhaka played 45 minutes.

Watch all of Muenier's touches in his debut for Sunderland against RC Lens.

He looks a solid player. He's played at three World Cups, won everything in France with PSG and moved to Dortmund with Jude Bellingham, before finding his way to us.

He looked good in the pressing trigger high up the field and was very attacking in his movement. His positioning was excellent with the ball on the opposite flank out of posession, frequently covering the centre of the box and our own Zone 14. He looked less comfortable defending one-on-ones on his own flank and he was largely untested for pace in this regard, but take a look at all his touches and see what you think early doors.

The Football is back! I cannot wait. The most exciting new season in my lifetime is about to begin, so let's take a look at the first pre-season game away to York City and see what we can learn about how Regis might play a little differently this season.
