Alaska on Brilliant Lady Questions?

Hi all, I believe the first alaska cruise is done and I’d love to get any and all details you have to share!

My fiancée and I are going in August 2027 for 12 nights on Brilliant Lady for our honeymoon and I’m extremely excited! We already have the cruise booked with a sea terrace room on deck 13 on the starboard side for glacier viewing (does anybody know if deck 13 is as noisy as deck 14 for sea terrace? or is there is a more favorable deck to move to?)

What’s the crowd like? We’ve done an alaskan cruise on Princess before and we were by far the youngest couple we saw (22 at the time), is virgin similar or is it still more of a party crowd?

Any tips/ tricks on viewing wildlife from the boat? Specifically from your balcony?

How much have do the activities change? I believe I saw someone say the scarlet night and pajama party are now indoors?

How is the food / any new food for alaska? My partner and I have only cruised with virgin once for a short 4 day cruise back in 2024 and we didn’t enjoy the food that much, but we have heard of lots of changes happening. Any tips/ tricks for the food? I think we were too overwhelmed and unprepared for the last cruise we did with vv.

Do they offer a photographers on the boat or at the ports when you get off? Any tips for couples to get photos together?

Is splash of romance worth it? I have deep blue extras from doing a loyalty match in the past so I already get $100 bar tab, priority boarding and a “sail away event”, so splash of romance would only add champagne, chocolates and a spa pass from my understanding… does it make the trip really feel more romantic?

Any other tips/ tricks for honeymooners?

Did they have any good shopping available on the boat? Any alaska specific merch yet?

Lastly, any information about the ports would be extremely appreciated. We have done Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan before but we will also be stopping at Icy Strait Point, Sitka and Haines this cruise. Did the last cruise stop at any of those ports?

Any information at all would be greatly appreciated, I’m just so excited!!! Thanks everyone

I've never made a post on Reddit before, so please bear with me.

As the title says, I was wondering if I could get some opinions on moving to Florida when I become a CFI or staying at my home airport in Pennsylvania.

I did my private training in Florida, but it took much longer than I expected, and my lease ran out, so I moved back home to save money and continue my training at a local school. I'm currently working on my commercial training now and plan on getting my CFI and CFII immediately after.

The school I’m currently at has a CFI class every 3 months, and last I heard, it takes about 7 months after that to get hired as an instructor.

Would it be better to move to Florida to finish my CFI and CFII and search for a job there, or should I continue at this school and wait it out?

I really enjoyed living and flying in Florida much more than Pennsylvania, and it also seemed like there were a lot more aviation opportunities there. I was hoping to get other people’s opinions. I know the job market is rough and changes constantly, but I keep racking my brain and can’t seem to decide what the best choice would be.

Any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated!
