Lesley Throupe was last seen in Kilmers Way, Looe, on the evening of Wednesday, July 1, between 7pm and 8pm.
He is described as a white man of average build with short light brown hair and a greying beard. Police said he wears glasses and may be wearing a grey hoody, grey or beige trousers and black trainers.

Anyone who has seen Lesley Throupe or knows of his whereabouts is asked to call police immediately on 999, quoting Log 175 of July 2, 2026.

Does anyone use a stick/cane that could potentially help with leverage for getting up from the floor? I have a mild genetic myopathy and my walking is still fairly ok but need a stick and afos.

My main worry when out is if I stumble and there’s nothing to push/pull up from is I can’t get up as I don’t have the strength. I can do it with something to push from. I know people will have differing opinions on how to deal with that but I need to keep walking as long as I can to help my lung muscles which are affected also.

Does anyone use a stick with some kind of leverage, like a wide handle or seat? All of the ones with seats just look unsteady to use. Currently I use a fischer handle stick. What about an auxillary handle? I was carrying a mini plastic stool in my backpack but it’s too heavy to be honest. Any ideas? Thank you.
