PiS & Battery Question(s)

I am currently looking into the benefits of PiS (and hopefully a battery) for my house, but I am not clear on what the best solution would be for my needs or whether my preferred connection approach would even work.

I have two Consumer Units in the house. One covers the whole house (inc. Utility w/WM + TD) except the Kitchen/ Diner/ Family Space. The second covers the Kitchen/ Diner/ Family Space and has a feed going to the shed (10mm2 armoured, 36A breaker). The Whole House CU also has an 'empty' 36A breaker that used to feed the shed.

For various reasons I cannot look at roof mounted solar for the foreseeable future.

Ideally I would like to put panels on the roof of the shed (c.20ft long, 5ft wide) that feeds a battery that then plugs into the shed CU (I have a spare way, so could put a single socket on that).

The other option is to utilise the 'empty' 36A breaker on the whole house CU. This is on a 10mm2 wire as well. I can extend this down to the shed. A bit more work, but doable.

Ultimately I'd like the panels on the roof of the shed so they can be there all year. I'd also like the battery in there so it isn't in the house.

With either of these options, my thinking is that the power would then flow back from the shed to the CU in the house and get used.

Does it work like this? I might be getting it all completely wrong.

Any thoughts or advice would be very much appreciated. Cheers.

Please help me learn from my ginger bug/ beer failures....

I recently made my first ginger bug and subsequently made a batch of ginger beer. I knew things weren't going well, but this has been brought into much sharper relief following other posts from the UK showing super fizzy ginger beers after only a day.

I started my ginger bug on Friday 19th June using this recipe: https://thehappypear.ie/plant-based-and-vegan-recipes/naturally-fermented-ginger-beer-non-alcoholic/

I used supermarket ginger (likely not organic) and Billington's golden granulated sugar, mixed in bottled spring water. I washed the ginger before I used it.

So with clear, albeit small, bubbles, (first couple of photos) I decided to make up some ginger beer on Wednesday evening.

Having been reading more on here, I followed this recipe in the end:- https://www.reddit.com/r/fermentation/s/5r5f8JVOq1

However, I added three limes not one and also put some crushed cardamom pods in.

The ginger beer has been flat as a pancake ever since it was bottled. Zilch in the way of bubbles.

When I made the ginger beer I also topped up my ginger bug with chopped ginger, water and sugar.

But it now looks like it has not life in it at all (following photos) and looks to have a residue on the surface.

I am thinking I needed to wait longer with the bug before using it and also perhaps too much lime, but really I'm shooting in the dark.

I've already written off the ginger beer and will just drink it flat, or maybe mix it with something else, but I'd be grateful for some advice on whether the bug can be saved and if so how?

Welding/ Gauntlet Glove Sizes

I am based in the UK and have just got a Classic III.

I'm looking for some decent gloves and it's clear to see why people go for welders/ gauntlet gloves. But they always seem to be 'one size' and I don't want anything unmanageable as it'll just making using them awkward and even dangerous.

How do people find sizing? Here are a couple of options I'm considering:
