Where to watch Norway vs Brazil in Rio tomorrow?

Hi! I’m going to watch the Norway–Brazil match tomorrow and I’m looking for tips on where to see it in Rio.

I grew up with Brazilian football, so I’d really like to watch the game somewhere authentic, lively, and with a good football atmosphere — not just a random tourist bar.

I know there are lots of places along Copacabana that look nice, but I can’t really picture what the atmosphere would be like there during the match. Is it actually good there, or would you recommend somewhere else?

Any recommendations for bars, botecos, fan spots, or neighborhoods where people will be watching?

Obrigado!

After reading 150 Reddit posts about "Brazil in July", Rio is the only thing I'm certain about. Help! :)

Hi everyone!

I honestly thought that countless AI tools and Reddit Brazil itinerary threads would save me from making yet another post like this. Yet, here we are.

My wife and I are planning our first trip to Brazil and would love some advice on our itinerary.

We'll have around 20 days in July. Our main goal is to experience authentic Brazilian culture, history, food, and nature, while also including some beautiful and relaxing beach time. We're not interested in nightlife, partying, or drinking-focused destinations.

A few things about our trip:

  • July means we'll probably avoid destinations south of São Paulo because of the cooler weather.
  • We definitely want to visit Rio de Janeiro.
  • Lençóis Maranhenses looks incredible, but we've decided to skip it because of the extra logistics.
  • We're happy to take a couple of domestic flights if they make the itinerary more efficient.
  • Our international flight home will likely be from either Salvador or São Paulo.

Our current (but not final) idea looks something like this:

São Paulo → Paraty → Ilha Grande → Rio de Janeiro → somewhere further north with warm weather and great beaches (possibly around Salvador) → fly home

What we're looking for:

  • Authentic Brazilian culture and everyday life
  • History and colonial architecture
  • Great local food
  • Beautiful beaches and nature
  • Destinations that feel reasonably safe and comfortable for first-time visitors

Does this route make sense for a first visit to Brazil? Are there any places you would remove, replace, or add?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
