Received an interview from USUHS

Hello, I recently received an interview for my number one school USUHS. I’ve always dreamed of doing operational medicine. With that being said I’ve had a high BP issue which is under control with meds for abt two years. Other than that I’m a healthy college athlete. From what I’ve heard is that it’s not difficult to get waivers, especially if you’re going into the medical corps (navy), due to shortages, and it also being a professional job. Any insight on this, should I be worried about my medical exam? Specifically from current students, HPSP students, or active duty.

• Multiple research presentations/awards
• Multiple academic and athletic awards, including DIII All-American honors

**Currently cycle update:**
So far, I’ve interviewed at 4 schools and have been accepted to 1, all DO schools. Definitely grateful to have an acceptance this early, but I’m still waiting to hear back from the MD schools I applied to.
For reference, my AMCAS application was processed on June 13th.

**Thoughts:**
Can’t believe I’m going to be a doctor. Only dilemma is I have to submit my deposit by Oct 1st. If it comes to it and I don’t have much more movement or acceptances I’ll submit, and just eat the deposit if I get an A from any better school. But nonetheless that’s a great sign this early. My average-lower MCAT people there is hope, I got so distanced by all the high stat apps, just be yourself🙏🏼

Controlled Hypertension

Hello,

I am planning on attending USUHS or doing the HPSP scholarship through the Navy. I have had hypertension for a year or two and have had some concern on if I will qualify. It is controlled and I do not have any other issues (organ damage). Can I get a waiver for this?
