Sant Antoni reminds visitors: Ibiza is for enjoying, but not without rulescan be serious
Sant Antoni has put out this responsible tourism poster, and honestly, it is the kind of thing a lot of visitors should see before arriving.
Ibiza is a place to enjoy. Nobody is saying people should come here and behave like they are in a library. But there is a difference between having fun and treating the island like anything goes.
Some of the fines shown on the poster are pretty serious:
Drinking alcohol in public: €1,500
Nitrous oxide / laughing gas: from €750 to €3,000
Urinating in the street: €750
Walking shirtless outside beach areas: €750
Buying from illegal street sellers: €500
Noise and disturbances: €750
Using illegal taxis or taxi touting: €600
The point is not just the money. It is the impact these things have on residents, workers and other visitors. People live here, people work early, streets need to stay clean, and public spaces are not just party zones.
Ibiza can still be fun without public drinking, street urination, shouting at 4am, buying from illegal sellers or jumping into unlicensed cars.
Enjoy the island, but don’t forget it is a real place, not just a holiday playground.
