Visa
Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice about long-term visa options for China because I’m a bit stuck.
My boyfriend (he is not Chinese) currently lives and works in China. I’m French, so as far as I understand, I can stay in China for up to one month without too many complications.
The problem is that I would like to live there with him for a longer period of time, but I’m not sure what options I have.
We already looked into the possibility of marriage, but from what we understood, even if we got married, I wouldn’t be able to get a family reunion visa because he does not have permanent residency in China.
As for work, I honestly don’t think finding a job there would be realistic for me. My background is in literary studies, I don’t speak Chinese, and I don’t really have qualifications that seem likely to get me a work visa.
So far, I’ve already spent around 4 months in China by leaving the country and re-entering every month to reset my stay, but I’m starting to worry about how many times I can keep doing this before immigration officers start seeing it as suspicious.
Does anyone know if there are any visa options I might not be aware of, or if anyone has been in a similar situation?
