Don’t rush — we all bloom in our own time ☀️

Everyone walks in their own time zone,
the heart holds its own warm sun.

Brew a cup of tea slowly,
and quietly wait for all good things to come.

No need to hurry or keep up with others.
Just sit back, sip tea, and embrace your own pace.

Gathering with friends on a lovely day — scenery belongs to those who take time to enjoy it

The wind is soft, sunshine warm, sharing this moment with good friends.

Mountains, rivers and moonlit landscapes never have a permanent owner.

Only people with a leisurely heart can truly own them.

A cup of tea, quiet conversation, and nature’s beauty. That’s enough.

First time visiting Wuyi Mountain — lucky break during bamboo rafting

This is my first trip to Wuyi Mountain.
We had heavy pouring rain early in the morning, but miraculously, not a single drop fell while we were on the bamboo raft.
What incredible luck!⛰️
Can’t wait to taste the famous Wuyi rock tea grown in these mountains.

The Shipiao teapot: one form, many characters — a quick guide

Shipiao is one of the most iconic Yixing zisha teapot shapes. Its triangular skeleton hasn't changed in 200 years — only the proportions shift.

Classics: Ziye (slim & literary), Jingzhou/Manpiao (full & stable), Hantang (graceful three-curve spout).

Modern variations: Bawang (bold & powerful), square forms, ribbed textures, and newer designs like Napiao and Hepiao.

Every version pours cleanly and works across oolong, puerh, and black tea. The skeleton holds; the personality varies.

Curious what you all prefer — slim Ziye, rounded Manpiao, or something more modern?

Iron spots on Yixing teapots: what they are and why they actually matter

Ever noticed tiny black spots on a Yixing zisha teapot? Some people think they're defects. They're actually iron spots — natural iron minerals in the original clay that surface after high-temperature firing.

Here's the key: iron spots prove the clay wasn't acid-washed.

Some sellers acid-wash clay to make it look cleaner and more uniform. But that strips out the iron, ruins the porous structure, and the pot will never develop a proper patina.

No black spots + cheap price + claims of "original zisha"? Red flag.

Caveat: some clays like duanni are naturally low in iron. Use it as one clue, not the only test.

Yonematsu Shiono’s Preserving Handicrafts: Stories of Japanese Traditional Artisans

Yonematsu Shiono traveled across Japan to visit local craftspeople. Through interview records, he documented traditional crafts including woodwork, pottery and lacquerware, as well as the stories of artisans.

Affected by industrialization, many traditional crafts are on the verge of extinction. Free of abstract theories, this book shares artisans’ plain accounts of material selection, apprenticeship inheritance, their devotion to craft, and the dilemma of lacking successors.

Craftsmanship is more than the skill of making objects; it embodies humanity’s way of engaging with nature. Handmade works carry human warmth and ancient wisdom. Serving as a rescue record for fading crafts, this book invites us to reflect on tradition, handcraft and the beauty of artifacts in our fast-paced industrial age.

Drink aged‑quality tea, drink the good stuff

Drink aged‑quality tea, drink the good stuff.

Time brings out rich, mellow layers that young tea cannot offer. Slow‑aged tea rewards patience with every sip🍵
