Hi all. Absolutely love this sub and hoping to get some recs! I recently watched the animated Mulan movie and it…made me want to read something more intense haha are there any books where the fmc disguises herself as a soldier and meets the Mmc? Some spice is preferred!

I did read a book called {I Shall Be Near to You by Erin Lindsay McCabe} about 12 years ago that had this and it was great, though she goes to follow her husband and their relationship is already established before she goes! Open to all time periods since I don’t think this is a very common trope! Any and all recs are welcome!!!
