“Nerd day” today at w*rk and we wear nerd gear and get our own blocky sunglasses. Tomorrow’s “color war” and since crew wears blue, I’ve been greenlit to wear the event polo
I don’t even need to dress up any differently than normal to look like a nerd here lol. That’s the beauty of my outfit
My parents would k*ll me if they saw me drinking an energy drink
But this is just my way of rewarding myself for all the BS I’ve been through today as one of 4 people w*rking in customer service (2 of them being managers) amidst all the chaos. I wanted to test it not because I’m an energy drink guy, but I wanted the equivalent caffeine of about a cup of coffee and a new experience
9 hours survived today. I was not ready for what we faced (read desc)
This was a message from the store manager (the highest boss of the store), asking me to stay late on the day of a McCafé launch. I was expecting the Red Bull Energizer drinks/Red Bull cans, but what I was NOT expecting was a total of 10 new drinks I’d have to learn to make, and 2 new non-crafted, pre-packaged drinks:
•Red Bull Dragonberry Energizer
•Reduced sugar Red Bull Dragonberry Energizer (uses Red Bull Zero Sugar)
•Reduced sugar Dirty Dr Pepper (uses Diet Dr Pepper)
•Coca-Cola Vanilla Swirl
•Reduced sugar Coca-Cola Vanilla Swirl (uses Diet Coke)
•Fanta Orange Dream
•Caramel Apple Pie iced coffee
•Caramel Apple Pie latté
•Caramel Apple Pie iced latté
•Caramel Apple Pie frappé
•Red Bull cans
•Red Bull Zero Sugar cans
My event polo came in today!
Now I can act as a representative without needing my bulky crew uniform!
I ended up being stuck at the store because of THIS
I was just doing my regular order of way too much food and drink (3pc McCrispy Strips large meal w/ no-foam Sprite Berry Blast, no-pickle, extra patty McCrispy sandwich, large iced caramel macchiato) for less than $4 because empl*yee incentives RULE, but I learned after paying that the espresso machine was in lockout and needed to be cleaned, so I had to go through 10-20 minutes of cleaning the espresso machine to make my drink
Bought myself a new (slightly expensive) coffeemaker to survive early shifts
Deep drip tray for my tired, clumsy self, both single-serve (fresh to cup, hot or iced) and carafe (big hot coffee pot) support, an auto mode so I can have it brew for me at a specific time, up to 14oz single or 12 cups (96oz) for bulk, a built-in base heater for the carafe, and most importantly, it’s beautiful
Another corpo day smashed by yours truly, and now I’m HONGRY
I’m back to posting w*rk-related nonsense
The big boss (general manager) herself called me into action after yesterday’s conundrum of everyone hating on me for no reason, and I was taught a cool thing that not even most managers here get to learn (I’m gonna play it safe and not say what it is). Redemption run in full swing.
Why am I so trusted in my j*b
My boss (the general manager of my store) constantly has the same schedule as myself so we can swap between “strength in numbers” and “divide and conquer” at a moment’s notice, and I do the big things like answer the store phone and count inventory (these are manager things that are normally completely off-limits to crew). I’m also always there for big inspections, of which we also have another corporate one two days from now. Most crew members here get the run-around treatment of answering to shift managers, but they’re basically my peers
