I recently bought my first aquarium (20 gallons), which came with the basic setup (filter, heater, and lights). I quickly learned how much the startup costs actually add up! That being said, I'm still working on getting the substrate and other necessities, like water conditioner and a gravel vacuum. It's a freshwater tank, and I'll most likely be getting beginner-friendly fish.

If anyone has any advice on cleaning the tank or recommendations for equipment and supplies that will help with maintenance, I'd love to hear it. Thank you in advance!
