My current PCP is pretty dismissive, so I want to find a new one and I am hating every second of it. I'll find someone who looks promising, accepts my insurance, near my home and then see their website is like "we believe in a holistic approach to medicine and the body's natural healing abilities 🥰🌻🌸"

Like, no thanks. I want someone sympathetic to my symptoms and willing to try some different things with me, like medicine to help me stay awake and not "have you tried exercising more"

My former rheumatologist was an amazing and wonderful lady and my mom drives 2 hours to see her, but she couldn't help me anymore 😢 meanwhile my previous PCP was hesitant to let me get a mammogram at 32 even tho my mom has precancerous cells so her doc recommended her daughters get checked early

Maybe I can grin through the useless banter to get my bloodwork done and then just try again next year 😮‍💨

If anyone is in the northern virgina area and has a suggestion hit me up lol

My puppy is a ~6 month old lab super mutt, 35lbs and we've had her for about 3 months. At home, she is a happy and wonderful little thing, although still nervous about things like loud birds and being outside in the dark. Like if a dog a few houses down barks, she will hightail it to the door and cower until she gets in. But getting better. The main issue is when we leave the house. She wasnt this bad before, but now if any human speaks to her she will start barking, back up, raise her fur. Just absolute panic. Even my mom, who she has met before, was scary to her. If the person doesn't speak to her, she'll still be wary and try to get away from them.

One time, at a pet shop, she sniffed a worker stocking shelves and I was so proud of her. But then another dog walked in while we were walking out and she freaked out again. She also is afraid of other dogs, although at home she will play like they are best friends!

I just don't know what to do. I'm trying to just expose her to easy things, like walks in empty areas with few people. A drive thru so she can see new folks. But she just seems constantly panicked on walks so I don't think she enjoys it all. She only wants to be home. Is this an age thing she will grow out of? Should I go to like a puppy playcare so she meets friendly dogs who want to play? I just feel like she is miserable on what should be a fun walk, or getting attention. I dont want to torture her every time we have to go out
