Enter Captain Choudhury

It is clear that Hamza Choudhury is the standout choice to be our Club Captain for 2026/27.

Russell’s shortlist will include a homegrown hero (Luke Thomas), a player with superior footballing ability (Ollie Skipp) and a fan favourite (Winksy).

However, Hamza combines all three of these qualities. Furthermore, he’s loyal, leads by example and loves the club. His grit and #fearless fighting spirit epitomises everything the club stands for, and we also know that he is likely to play most games next season.

What do you all think? Are you as excited as I am about the prospect of a Leicester-born club legend leading us to League 1 glory?

Fatawu For £15m Is Another Rudkin Masterstroke

If the rumours are true, selling Fatawu for £15m is a great bit of business by Jon Rudkin.

Whilst he is capable of lighting up the occasional game with a moment of skill or spectacular goal, his lack of defensive contributions and inconsistent displays meant we could not rely on him last season and were a massive factor in our relegation.

It’s not a surprise that his best season came under Maresca. Without a manager with a strict tactical approach like Enzo, Fatawu goes missing too often.

Ironically, this means he’d have excelled under the tutelage of Russell - a manager who, unlike Van Nistelrooy, Cifuentes and Rowett, has a clear tactical vision for his teams.

So thank you for the memories, Fatawu. We’ll never forget your goal from the halfway line, your average chant and the hundreds of times you lost the ball and didn’t track back.

Let’s hope Monga and Mavididi are capable of getting to grips with ‘Russell-Ball’ and the club invest the money from Fatawu in a new striker.

In Defence Of Russell Martin

Almost all of the unfair criticism towards Russell Martin seems to be based on the views of Rangers fans.

🗣️ “Go and ask Rangers fans about Russell Martin!”

🗣️ “Rangers fans all hate Russell Martin!”

Granted, Russell’s spell at Rangers didn’t go well, but it is incredibly ignorant to base all of your opinions on one short period of a vast managerial career.

Let’s look at the facts: he took MK Dons from relegation favourites to mid-table safety, he took Swansea from mid-table to play-off contenders and he took Southampton from the Championship to the PL.

That’s pretty impressive, and I imagine that some of the fans of these clubs might have a different, more favourable perspective on Russell. It also proves he’s far more qualified for the Leicester job compared to anyone else linked to the role.

What’s more, why would you rely on the intelligence of fan opinion when making football decisions at all? If the club had done that in 2015, we’d have never employed Claudio and made sporting history. You only need to spend five minutes on Reddit to see how crazy, short-sighted and deluded most football fans are, so I don’t know you’d listen to them.

In fact, the best thing the club can do is ignore the fans, look at the evidence and choose the best man to save the future of our club: Russell Martin.

Russell Martin’s Blue & White Army

I don’t really understand the Russell Martin hate.

He’s already been labelled arrogant, but why is self-confidence a bad thing?

Marti Cifuentes was, by all accounts, a lovely, humble guy - look what happened to him. He lasted six months vecwge couldn’t handle the pressure. We need a manager with self-belief and the personality to stand up to the experienced pros in the squad.

Fuchs has been mentioned, but this would be a massive mistake - another ‘Andy King’ without the knowledge, ability and experience. It would guarantee another season of in-fighting and toxicity and anyone arguing this needs to realise that it isn’t 2016 any more.

Martin, on the other hand, is vastly experienced. He is a manager who’s got one of the worst Southampton teams to the PL, plays amazing football and is hungry to prove himself again.

Hopefully the boo boys who have already made their mind up keep their promise to stay away, and let Russell lead us back to glory.
