My humble collection

Hello, fellow handheld fans!

My journey with handhelds started when I was 6 years old. My parents bought me the classic Game Boy (the gray thick brick one) and I was hooked from then on. I owned Game Boy Color too, Game Boy Advance, a DS Lite that got stolen and a PSP. That's where my handheld ownership came to a sudden halt.

Three years ago, I was talked into trying Steam Deck, and I loved the experience.

Fast forward to November 2025, RAMpocalypse started. I wanted to wait a little bit longer before upgrading my SD, but I also knew that prices would skyrocket.

After a lot of research and hesitation, I ended up purchasing three handhelds in less than one year.

First, I bought in December the Claw A8 before the price hikes for 899€. Loved my deck experience so I immediately installed Bazzite. This was my Christmas present, and I sold my Steam Deck to offset some of the expense. This is my machine for PC games.

Then, in March I purchased the Retroid Pocket Flip 2 for 217€ under the excuse of my birthday present. It holds around 1100 games ranging from 8 bit to gen 6 consoles, plus Wii, Wii U and a collection of Arcade games. This is my retro emulation machine.

Now, last week I pulled the trigger on the Nintendo Switch 2 because of the upcoming price hike. Got it for 470€. This is my machine to enjoy Nintendo exclusives.

What do you think about my lineup? Is it reasonable or overkill?

I don't plan on purchasing any more until a few years pass, so I hope they all last a while.

I also include two pictures of them, one with the consoles "naked" and the other with protectors/grips, as some people prefer the vanilla aesthetics.
