Kolob Canyon Viewpoint (via I-15) or Kolob Terrace Rd to La Verkin/Zion?
I'll be traveling with some older family members (all in their late 70s) on a weeklong trip, and part of the trip will have us leaving Bryce around early afternoon and drive to La Verkin where we'll be staying at a hotel there overnight before visiting Zion in the morning next day.
My question is whether I should take the I-15 and visit Kolob Canyon Viewpoint on the way to La Verkin or should I take the Kolob Terrace Rd? I'll be on the 14 for the first half for both options, but for the second half I think Kolob Canyon probably has the most "wow" factor, but it feels like that would be the only major sightseeing draw as compared to Kolob Terrace Road which seems like a more varied mix of places to see. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Also we'll be in an AWD SUV if that matters for the road conditions.
Because my itinerary for this whole trip is focused more on places where the family members can sightsee from the car or at least places that require very little walking, which route do you all think is best for this leg of the trip? Thanks in advance!
Edit: I forgot to mention that we'll actually be stopping by Cedar Breaks National Monument first before deciding which route to take for the last part of the drive.
