Hey Guys, update from the person who kept asking about tickets and seats for Lost Boys
Well I finally went to see it and It was really good.

Mind you that the rest of this will be me ranting and reviewing this show, I am open to other peoples opinion in the comments but these are just my thoughts.
Also please note there are spoilers for the show in the rest of this post
(PS im writing this an hour after seeing it)

I thought Act 1 was really strong it built the tension up and the reveal in Secret Comes out. Secret comes out was actually the highlight of the first Act for me. I thought both LJ and Ben’s acting was phenomenal in this scene and did a great job explaining the vampire transformation thing without it feeling clunky and wordy. I thought the end with Micheal flying into the window was great. On top of that, I loved the flying after the bridge part and David and the lost boys were phenomenal in act 1.

On the topic of Secret Comes out, I thought that and No More Monsters were two of the strongest songs in the first Act, maybe my two personal favorites. I did also like Belong to Someone and Lose yourself (however thought Lose yourself was in a weird spot).

I thought Micheal seeing the flashbacks of his father and the abuse was a great touch and really added extra emotion to his character and the family dynamic. I like what they did with the characters especially Micheal and Lucy it made them feel more like actual people.

The Frog brothers cracked me up the entire time especially the scene with them, Sam, Lucy and Max at dinner and them spelling the ashes I was cracking up the whole time. (Dont know if I should be laughing at that) That was my favorite part of the entire show.

I went in knowing that Act 2 people didnt like as much but I thought it was ok.

3 Main Gripes
My main gripe with it (and the whole show) was it made the action and deaths way to quick. It felt like they would battle for like 2 seconds than one would die, and move on. No build up in my opinion. It was still good but I feel like it could of hit better. Especially Markos death it was way too quick and I had a hard time digesting it. Another gripe was just the special effects of the fire at the end, I thought it was almost unnecessary like it was just plopped into the scene, I get why it was there but I feel like it didnt add much especially when the character would die and exit stage in like 2 seconds. (except David) Also last main gripe was some of the music just was not memorable, I liked a lot of the songs I listed previously and oddly Superpower and My Brother is A… but some just went very plain

ESPECIALLY HAVE TO HAVE YOU.
This is where it may get controversial, I was so excited for this song but then it is mostly just David singing Have to Have you over and over again. No shade to him Ali was amazing, one of my favorites but I was just like ok what else for that song. I feel like they could of gone farther with that.

Also, I see people all around praising Shoshana and Ali’s performances and they were amazing but we need to give Ben and LJ more props they were amazing. Ben made Sam so funny and was cracking me up so much throughout the show. Especially the scene with the family dinner. LJ had great vocals and really drew me into Micheal as a character. I personally thought leaving Ben should of gotten a tony nom.

i said this to someone at the stagedoor, I came for Ali but left loving Ali and Ben and LJ.

Though these are just my thoughts please comment what you think below. Also sorry for the lengthy post and the many grammar errors in it.

I think this show has a good shot at Tony Nominations but I will update this after I see Schmigadoon in an hour
