Excessively heavy key weight on Boston grand piano?

I’m curious if anyone here has experience with unusually heavy Boston grand actions. My piano is a Boston grand that’s less than 5 years old and kept in a stable, well-regulated environment (so humidity/swelling shouldn’t be the issue). The action feels dramatically heavier than other grand pianos I play — especially compared with the piano at my school, which I can play for hours without fatigue.

I tried roughly measuring the touch weight by placing U.S. quarters on the front edge of several middle-register keys (Middle C, D, F) until the keys would slowly depress. It took about 18 quarters per key, which I think works out to around 100g of force. From what I’ve read, that seems much higher than normal.

The main issue is that my forearm gets pretty tired after only ~15 minutes of playing on this piano, whereas I have no fatigue issues on other grands. I recently had the piano serviced by a Steinway-certified technician, and he told me the heavier feel is basically due to the geometry/design of the piano and that there isn’t much that can be changed.

Does this sound normal for a Boston grand, or does it sound like the action/touch weight may genuinely be excessive? Has anyone had success making a Boston action noticeably lighter through regulation or action work?
