My relationship with hardware stores has changed dramatically

I used to walk into places like Home Depot completely overwhelmed and confused. Now I wander around looking at light fixtures and storage containers recreationally like some kind of suburban evolution occurred without my permission.

Welp me! I'll write a line thinking it sounds fine in my head then read it back and it feels stiff or too written. T_T Either it sounds too formal or just not like how people actually talk. I've tried reading it loud and tweaking it which helps a bit but it still feels off sometimes. It's harder than I expected to make it sound real without overthinking every line. Do you tricks you use to make dialogue feel more natural?

I finally raised my prices last month after putting it off for a while. I was expecting pushback or at least a few clients questioning it, but honestly almost no one did. A couple asked about it but they still stayed, and new clients didn't seem to mind either. Made me realize I probably undervalued my work for linger than I should have. Should have done it sooner. Anyone else recently raised their prices and had the same experience?

Didn't expect this to be something I'd learn, but here we are. For me it ended up being basic plumbing stuff like fixing a leaking faucet and unclogging drains. At first I had no idea what I was doing but now i kind of know my way around it. It's funny how you pick up these skills just from needing to fix things (thanks for tutorial vids and subreddit tips). Didn't expect to know this much about it.
