I wonder if it’s ok to buy some fairtex gear ( for the quality or the product) for a beginner. I don’t want to seem like a spoiled child but I’d like to have some quality gear. is it worth the money?

In september I'll start practicing muay thai and I don't want to arrive there like a complete newbie, at least for the physique I still have my membership at the local gym for this summer, what should I focus on in these months? Surely I have to loose like 4 kgs and do some cardio and core, but what else? Should I start with some conditioning training?
I already have quite a muscular body, but I know I can't be called a muscular guy. Any tips?
