Tree options for grass corridor close to house

Tree options for grass corridor close to house

Hi there!

I’m looking to plant some trees in a grass area adjacent to my house. The spot is an east-facing grass corridor, relatively well-sheltered from prevailing southwest winds, but space is somewhat limited on that side.

You can get a sense of the location from the photo.

Ideally I'd like them placed in the grass corridor rather than by the fence which would mean the trees would be about 5m from the house.
Since the building is roughly 7 metres tall, I’d prefer trees that won't completely overpower it, ideally aiming for a mature height between 7–10 metres, though I’m open to suggestions.

Isn’t it fortunate in hindsight that Mayo didn’t win the Covid finals they played in 2020 and 2021?

If Mayo had beaten Dublin or Tyrone in the finals they played in 2020 and 2021 we would have never experienced what happened on Sunday.

There was no crowd in 2020 when they played Dublin and in 2021 the attendance was only 40k.

As a Mayo man I am trilled we ended up winning a few short years later in a full Croke Park and was able to experience the homecoming in a packed MacHale Park.

It’s funny how things work out.

Dead leaves on cherry tree?

I have a weeping variety of cherry tree that has some brown leaves and brown sap in places much seems very unusual for June.

It was planted 3 years ago as a young tree so it’s not old. Pictures attached.

Any advice is appreciated. Hoping it’s not anything serious.

Why does my Automower sometimes not make it back to its charging station?

As the title says sometimes my mower not make it back to the charging station. It seems to be happening more frequently which is incredibly annoying.

It can often get stranded anywhere in the garden.

Any ideas of what the problem may be?

It’s even more apparent the new rules have been a huge success

I think it’s a fair to say that after more than one year since they’ve been introduced that the new football rules have vastly improved the game. It’s even more evident this year as teams seem to have come to terms with them.

Seems that most games are now enjoyable whereas little over a year ago the majority of matches were perpetrated by low risk horrid football. Most games were truly a hard watch until the rule charges. It’s currently a faster and more enjoyable sport.

I still think it can be improved. For one, it is still far too easy to hold onto the ball, especially when one team has an extra man. Maybe no ‘backcourt’ could improve things further.

Sigenergy vs others for dynamic pricing

Hi there,

Is Sigenergy that much better than others in terms of being able to manage dynamic pricing.

I know they have AI integration but how does it compare to the likes of Solis S6, Ecoflow, and SAJ and their AI capabilities when taking advantage of dynamic price tariffs?

Do other systems involve considerably more tweaking?

Hi there,

Currently about to pull the trigger on solar panels and an ev charger. One installer has recommended an SAJ system with an inverter, battery, and ev charger from the same SAJ brand?

I have heard good things about Sigenergy for solar batteries and Zappi for home chargers. Is this SAJ system good or would I be better get something else?

I'm in the process of finalising a home solar setup and trying to decide on batteries. I’ve been quoted a few different options and would really appreciate some real-world feedback:

  • Dyness PowerBox G2
  • Sigenergy
  • Anker
  • SAJ HS3

It's a ~10 kW system), looking for something reliable with good long-term performance rather than just the cheapest upfront option. Although there is a huge difference in price between Sigenergy and the rest. Is it worth is though?

I have an ev too if that is important.
