How do you make death mean anything in a world with resurrection spells?
Exactly the question. In a world where resurrection magic exists for the players, how do you make death mean anything. If players die two encounters in a row, does their death carry the same narrative weight anymore? Does anyone need to bother crying when the cleric can just bring them back?
How have you or your DM’s managed to address this problem? Removing resurrection magic? Making the campaign more lethal? Less lethal? I’m genuinely interested because I don’t think there’s a single right answer.
