Pretty sure I am physically too rough on the paper still. Got lucky with the right exposure time today, but accidentally scratched both negatives in excitement so will have to reprint, boo

Restoration WIP 🇺🇸

Really getting the hang of leading. About 10 hours into this so far, so slow!

Decided to finally try! used a negative I made of my friends dog for a party Saturday. Not sure if I did it all right, shocked it came out!

Much more exciting than I anticipated! As it’s drying more the blue is getting darker but I feel like I am losing some detail. Also the sensitizer was not yellow when I mixed it in equal parts. It was very blue/green. Decided to try anyways and it worked!

Only waited about an hour for the sensitizer to dry, needed to have a test run ASAP. Exposed for 7 minutes. I did not wash in running water. I agitated it in a tray full of RO water because the tap here is incredibly hard. Moved it around and changed the water once until it looked like no more chemical was releasing from the paper. Took it out, let it drip a bit while I got new water with 3 drops of hydrogen peroxide added (I have no idea how much water this tray holds so was guessing a light ratio). The tip of the hat came out really well! The lighter spots are the concrete garden animals I used to weigh the glass down.

That’s the best I can explain what I did to you all! This was very fun excited to do more! Also tried to do a rock but that was a complete fail.

My mentors latest custom piece 🦉

She really has a talent of making her panels feel like they’ve come to life! On her 52nd year of making stained glass and I’m honored to be a student! The glass choices are a+
