Shoe recommendation needed

I currently use the asics gel hunter 3 and love these shoes to bits. I now need new shoes. Thing is, this model has been discontinued. So my question goes to those who know this shoe: do you know any similar shoe? Do the newer models maybe feel the same?

What is the result of floor(0.999...)?

This is going to sound so stupid but I'm somewhat puzzled by this simple question.

So, we know that floor(x) just rounds x down to the next whole number (e. g. floor(8.9)=8 and floor(1.01)=1).

So if we just take 0.999... at face value, then floor(0.999...) should return 0.

But 0.999... is equivalent to 1 and, trivially, floor(1)=1.

So therefore floor(0.999...) should return 1.

I know that both can't be true at the same time and there has to be some definition of the floor function that solves that for me but I am just not smart enough to find that solution by googling it (and we all know that asking Ai is basically gambling on the result to be accurate).

One thing I thought about, but quickly found out was to represent 0.999... as a series with terms of 9/(10^(n+1)), arguing that every partial sum returns a floor of 0, so the floor of the series has to be 0 aswell. After recalling some of the math lectures I attended *whilst studying maths for 5yrs* (which is actually the embarrassing part about this one as it's so f***ing elementary first semester sh*t), is, that that simply isn't how math works.

So I had to conclude that I do not know the solution, even though I had to solve this exact problem as a homework. But that is like 8 yrs back and my current work has very little to do with this. So I forgot the solution to it.

I do suspect that the answer is 1 based on intuition but I can't offer anything more. So... can someone enlighten me with what the solution is and why that is how it works? Is it maybe a case of "it depends on [...]"?

EDIT: Thank you guys so much for answering my question! Appreciate you XD

This can't be legal... right?

Currently installing Aslain's for the first time and saw this mod. That can't be legal, right? I mean, showing where internal modules are just has to be illegal. Or am I missing something here?

I decided that I'm done grinding tech tree tanks for now...

This is gonna be a controversial one, I feel.

So, basically the title is the tl dr. For everyone wanting to hear my reasoning, here it is:

I started playing this game last February because I wanted to spend time with my two brothers, who are both enjoying this game very much. I saw all the cool tanks in the tech tree and roughly made a "shopping list".

That list contained the following tier 10 tanks I do have (or can just buy for credits):

IS-7,

E3, E4,

Foch B,

S. Conqueror,

WZ td

Type 5, Ho Ri,

60TP

I also started several projects that I didn't finish because I either just couldn't be bothered finishing the line or got bored/disinterested in the line. Those lines are (along with a one word reasoning of why it's unfinished):

E5 (M103)

Badger (Tortoise)

Cent AX (lost interest)

Ares (not my style)

T57-Heavy (T69)

Bat chat (would've to grind lights)

Canopener (Conceiver)

The reason why I stopped grinding is very much simple:

  1. I like good tanks.

  2. I already have a lot of good tanks for every conceivable niche

Simple as that. I simply don't see the point in grinding the T57-Heavy when I have a Foch B. Why would I want the E5 or a Badger when the Draveć already sits in my garage since late January? Why would I want to have a 705A when I habe a BZT 70? What is the point of grinding the Canopener when I already have the S. Conq as a hull down heavy or the BZT for a side scraping high alpha monster? Besides that, I feel more at home at tier 9 where there is less sweaty gameplay and more of the supe fun tanks around, like the Saryuda (which is my favorite f2p tank btw) or the Vlkodav (my all time favorite tank in the game). With that in mind it becomes real tough to justify actual grinding of tech trees to me.

But I will be keeping my options open, because I decided recently that I will be getting all of the tech tree tanks (eventually) anyways. I have a premium account, I'm sort of decent at the game and I play a lot of premium tanks. That means that I make a shit ton of free XP. And since I already have all of the field mods on my tanks anyways, I think I'll just go ahead and grind every line of every nation simultaneously by spending free XP to unlock the entire tech tree tier by tier (including the collector's vehicles), module by module.

So, that is where I'm at right now and this is where I'm going. I have a lot of blue prints for the higher tiers already from completing dailies and doing the battle pass thingy, so the higher tiers wont be that much of a roadblock. That being said, I'm currently working on tier 6 and will soon start working on tier 7. I reckon that this is gonna tanke a couple years but its not like I had any better use for it anyways (as the assebly shop tanks are mostly meh anyways... apart from the dbv which i got).

So yeah, let me know what you think about it if you like or discuss the matter down below. See yah on the battle fields and until then: happy hunting XD

Why do ppl care that much about losing when otherwise performing great?

Tl dr: Title, but I do know that (and why) winning is/feels better than losing.

To elaborate:

I started playing pvp games with this title and I never got over the notion of complaining about losing, when your performance is very much excellent. I just can't wrap my head around why there are so many ppl complaining about this on here. Some examples:

https://www.reddit.com/r/WorldofTanks/s/vVMLlLofAW

https://www.reddit.com/r/WorldofTanks/s/hAy4J6USts

https://www.reddit.com/r/WorldofTanks/s/WaGvsPWAv9

And these are just from the past week or two because the list would be getting out of hand if we went back a year or so.

Maybe my opinion is controversial in the sense that I have some abnormal mindset compared to everyone else but, for me, it matters little to nothing at all, whether or not I win games. After all, why would I let my sense of accomplishment or my happiness depend on something that potentially 29 other ppl have just as much control over as me? It seems a little bit nonsensical, doesn't it? Why wouldn't i measure myself on things that I can control, like damage dealt or whether or not I made the right decisions regarding positioning and so on?

Don't get me wrong here, I do get, why winning is fun and why we want to win every game, but why would ppl go out of their way to complain about games like the one I had up top: 6k dmg at tier 9, high caliber, top dmg of the game, made good plays, lost the round. Why would the last of those attributes be the special one that makes me dislike such an obviously great battle? Why give that much room to what is basically not more than a footnote to this game in the end?

I could go on and on about where my mindset is coming from, whether or not I think this post belongs here and/or whether or not I think this is a controversial opinion, but I would assume, this interests roughly 7 ppl worldwide, 5 of which are me and my immediate family, so I won't bother y'all with that unless I'm asked about it.

But to me the question remains: Why do so many ppl care about losing games *so much*, when they perform extraordinarily well?

Before I get into it, I want to preface this by saying that these are just some petpeeves I have with the game from my personal experience. If you don't share this view, that is absolutely valid aswell.

  1. Spawn positions
  • this has been puzzling me since I started playing this game. The starting positions are random to a certain degree. There is a batch of spawnpoints for every class in the game. But we all know that a Hirschkäfer and a PTZ-78 want to play at very different positions. This makes it annoying if you spawn in on Paris in a PTZ, just to realize the game put you as far away from the south as possible, placing two Hirschkäfer where you would've liked to spawn in.
  • I would bet money on the fact that this is the single biggest cause for ppl driving into each other at the beginning at the round, causing them to be late for some crossings, possibly causing hem to take unnecessary damage early on.
  • I would want a redesign of the spawns for each teams, adjusting for role, rather than class.
  • Simple fix
  • would make me happy
  1. The Battle button
    • currently, if you are platooning with a friend and you are the commander, you need to click the platoon icon at the bottom of the screen (which in german is just the word "Zug", so small ass hitbox), then click ready in the platoon window (which - *again* - is very much not a big button) and only then you can click into battle.
    • There are a few "work-arounds" though, lets discuss them:
    • you can install the old battle results screen with a mod, removing the step to click the platoon icon at the bottom of the screen
      • This shouldn't be a thing in vanilla, so it is besides the point. Apart from that, you still only partly fix the problem, so not really a workaround
    • you can click the battle icon up at the top on the 2.0 results screen to directly join the queue
      • this is very much flawed in the sense that this only works, if your platoonmate readied up already (otherwise you will get the "you sure bro?"-message, which is annoying) AND you want to play the sme vehicle again.
      • idk about you guys, but I don't usually play sessions with others where we only play a single combo of vehicles (or only my platoonmate is switching tanks), so this only working when I don't want to switch tanks kinda makes this not viable for me, also the fact that I can't see when my mate is ready this way (as I can't see the platoon window) is annoying too.
    • Simple fix: Make the battle button be the ready button (or split it down the middle so left is ready and right is battle). Would make me happy
  2. Exiting battles
    • there is only one way atm to exit the battle via a keyboard inputs in vanilla and that is Alt+F4. Please implement a way where I don't have to install mods to get this feature
  3. Implement the keyboard shortcuts you promised with 2.1
    • for those who don't know, WG wanted to implement keyboard shortcuts for everything with 2.1 (for example pressing V got you to the stats screen of your tank). This is currently not in the game (afaik). Please reimplement these or at least make them a setting you can enable. this would remove a lot of the friction caused by the new UI
  4. Please implement a consistent UI
    • the platoon window for example is still the old pre 2.0 UI, please fix that and bring the entire old UI back (or at least make your UI style consistent with itself)

All of these points are just little things that don't take a lot of programming effort to fix (imo, not a programmer) but would make the UX so much better and less frustrating. Thanks for listening
