I need some help getting into the genre.
I always liked Black Sabbath's older albums, the slow and repetitive riffs n' stuff, funky but heavy. Every now and then i would occasionally listen to Acid Mammoth too, so recently i came to the conclusion that i really want to get deeper into the genre but i ran into a problem when listening to more "modern" sounding bands.
I really loved Sleep's Holy Mountain, so a friend recommended Dopesmoker and it was WAY too droney for my taste, i'm running into the same problem with most of the modern doom metal bands i know of, it's just way too atmospheric for my taste.
I would really appreciate if someone could recommend me more riff-driven and dynamic-sounding albums similar to Holy Mountain.
