My system specs are as follows.

A fully updated Mint Cinnamon install, 9800X3d, Sapphire 9070XT, 64 gigs of ram, resolution 3840 x 2160.

I ran a command off the mint forums that said I was using a driver for a sapphire 9070xt. I am using HDMI because my monitor is a 65” TV that I bought specifically for the 144hz refresh rate. I bought a special HDMI cable to allow the 144hz refresh rate. And I got 144hz on windows 11 with the exact same setup. But the best I can get Mint to do is 120hz.

I've been using Linux mint as my only operating system for a few weeks now. But I just ran into my first game that kept crashing. I have already requested a refund, but after googling I saw some people say that they fixed the game on the steam deck using a program called protontricks. Is this going to be a big enough problem that I need to learn to use this program? If so where is a good resource to learn about said program? The game was Immortals fenyx rising.
