The Greek gods are the athanatoi the deathless, immortal, undying gods. Making them straightforwardly killable fundamentally clashes with how Greek tradition usually conceptualized divinity. Meg’s hubris ultimately ending in defeat would have been much more at home in Greek myth than her simply killing her way through Olympus.
