Illustrated book of dragon myths and stories
I remember this book from when I was younger, around 1990-2000. It was an anthology of different dragon stories interspersed with commentary and history, showing how different cultures and different authors have interpreted dragons throughout history. It had beautiful paintings throughout. Early chapters were things like Babylonian myths about sea serpents, Norse myths like the Jormungandr, and comparisons between traditional Asian dragons and medieval European dragons. Later chapters included excerpts from Anne McCaffrey's Pern series and Terry Pratchett's Discworld (along with an unforgettable portrait of Errol the Swamp Dragon).
