Looking for employment, resources to keep my skills sharpe.

Good morning, everyone. I am an prior US veteran who recently gotten my Master's Degree in Digital Forensic. However, it has been a struggle to find employment. Let me explain my background.

  1. I have been in the IT industry for 20 years. I have done system administration, IT project management and etc. However, digital forensics is a different level for me. I love learning more and more about it. However, I can't find employment for myself. I can find IT jobs, but not in digital forensic.

  2. I am aware of certification, but it is not easy to find school for my program to help me with any of certification for me. I am looking for resources to help with anything that will keep my skills sharpe in my field. Any help would be greatly appreciated in the field

Why are US Army veterans children joining the Air Force instead of the US Army?

This is a serious question.

Don't get me wrong the US Air Force does respect or treat their services members better. However, it doesn't mean everyone is better.

  1. Air Force discipline is very low to the US Army.

Everytime I check in on a US Air Force Base. They don't even said hello or said my name unless I was an officer. Every time I go to an US Army base I am treated with way better respect and courtesy.

  1. US Army get the most for its budget for bonuses and TDY. Let keep it real with the DOD Budget. Most of the money goes to the missiles and aircraft for the US Air Force. The bonus the US Army get is crazy for the time being in the future. You have to be a pilot to get more than a $40,000 bonuses in the US Air Force.

  2. Promotion are way better in the US Army. Dont get me wrong. I know what it is like to have a MOS that has high points. It is frustrating to be doing a job above your pay grade, but not getting paid that pay grade. However, there is more options to become an Warrant Officer and Commission Officer in the US Army.

I want to hear anyone opinion about this situation. Would you tell your kids to join the US Air Force over the US Army? Honestly, no, but I would tell me son to become an Officer or become a Mustang after 5 years.

Proposal to make 20 year retirement immediately for Reservist.

Good afternoon, everyone. Is there a proposal or bill to make the US Army Reserve retirement the same as active duty? I don't mean as the same type of compensation or pay, but should we all have to wait until we are 60 year old? I am asking because my son maternal grandpa died. He was 58 years old, but he was active duty. If he was in the US Army Reserve retirement. He would have lost his retirement. I am aware his wife would have gotten regardless of his components.

Any idea or comments are welcome.
