Can’t create Trade Republic account or access support
I am a dual-citizen (South Africa and Spain) as I was born in South Africa and my mother is Spanish so I could claim Spanish Citizenship from birth.
The issue is I have been living in Ireland since I was around 11 or so, have my Irish Driving License, Public Services Card, Age Card, etc. Basically every single form of identification outside of the Irish passport as I am not an Irish citizen but am a EU citizen living here.
Trade Republic don’t accept any form of Irish identification besides the passport from the looks of it.
So I tried to use my Spanish passport, but they require my Spanish DNI along with my passport which I do not have as I have never lived permanently and worked in Spain and it can only be acquired through multiple appointments in Spain.
So I tried to then use my South African passport, but they won’t accept that either as the passport is out of date (never had to use it for travel or identification as I always had my Irish IDs and my Spanish passport which is stronger). So I am in a situation where I literally am unable to create an account because they refuse all forms of my ID.
The worst part of it is the fact I can’t even access Trade Republic support because they have no live chat and you can’t create an open ticket until you’ve already made an account. I tried calling the only number I could find and emailing the only email I could find for them (emergency number and inquiry email) and they refused to even hear out my case.
Does anyone know of any way I can get in contact with them or ways of sorting out this issue?
