Yellow-orange mushroom in oak woodland — Emilia-Romagna, Italy, approximately 1,000 m / 3,281 ft elevation
Found growing from the soil among leaf litter in a predominantly oak woodland in Emilia-Romagna, Italy, at approximately 1,000 m (3,281 ft) elevation.
The cap was yellow to orange-yellow (approximately 6–7 cm or 2.4–2.8 inches in diameter), broadly flattened to slightly depressed, with a visibly striated margin. The gills were pale cream to yellowish, closely spaced, and appeared attached to slightly decurrent. The stem was white to pale cream, with no visible ring.
The mushroom was photographed in situ. I have included views of the cap, gills, stem, and surrounding habitat. Any help identifying the genus or species would be appreciated.
