Old Fleet at Westall
Been seeing multiple posts of photos and threads about Comengs, Xtraps and Siemens trains being taken to Westall Sidings lately. Xtrap and Comeng photos at Clayton over the last few days come to mind. Thought I would clarify as people seem confused.
Whilst these trains will occasionally go out to the maintenance shed at Westall, this isnt the reasoning for the influx over the last couple of weeks.
With all the works at Mordialloc, Frankston Sidings (6 Trains), Kananook Sidings (21 Trains) and Mordialloc Sidings (4 Trains) have been emptied as these trains are still needed throughout the day.
So, these extra trains have to be stabled elsewhere. Melbourne Yard Wash, Craigieburn Wash, Westall are just some of the places that I can think of off the top of my head that are being utilised to accommodate the extra 31 trains.
