I’m building a 6s2p pack for an RC VTOL, and was wondering about the necessity of a BMS for this use.

I already have a good balance charger (iMax B6) and am planning to add balance leads to the pack. The flight controller I’m using will also be able to monitor battery output voltage (not per cell though) in flight. In this case, is a BMS still necessary? What are some recommendations if I do need one (will be drawing ~50A peak)?
