Great News and Slight Update

Hey everyone,

I’m Odin Ravenhart. It’s been a minute since I posted here. I’ve been focused on writing and some personal stuff.

Last Wednesday, I finished my first fiction on Royal Road: The Grimoire of Monsters and Beasts.

I wanted to put a little footprint here and share what’s next. I’m currently on a short break, but in the next few days I’ll be diving back in to edit Book 1. Chapters 2–20 especially need more love, though I’ll be going through everything with fresh eyes (and a trusted family member). The early chapters still have the enthusiasm I felt when I started, but they were written in short bursts while I was mostly focused on getting the story out there. Now that I’ve proven to myself I can finish something, I want to go back and strengthen those foundations. Royal Road is pretty forgiving that way, which I’m grateful for.

A bit of context on the writing schedule: I used to post three times a week. It helped me grow a fair bit, but after about three weeks of constant writing, I burned out hard. Gluing myself to the chair/bed/screen every day wasn’t sustainable. Switching to two days a week has been much more manageable and still lets me keep the momentum going.

Thank you to anyone who came over from Reddit to show the book some support. It meant a lot. Have a great day, everyone.

My Book Cover and Introduction

Well, hello, my name is Odin Ravenhart, and it's a pleasure to meet you all. I am a dark fantasy writer who loves LITRPG and all manner of fantasy books. Plus dinosaurs and Norse Mythos.

For context, I just started out on Royal Road this year. I've been writing since the 23rd of February, and it's been a great pace. This has been a passion project of mine since I was 15, and when I started writing, I was 11. I did get stalled out schooling and unnecessary criticism about me wanting to write dark fantasy, but I kept going. This is the 5th and final iteration of this book, and I couldn't be happier. To be honest, I was a fish out of water when I started, but everyone was really nice, and the progress I've made is great.

This is why I am here showing off my new and first proper book cover for *The Grimoire of Monsters and Beasts*. It's been quite a fun journey so far, and I can't wait to show off more. I even have other book ideas planned out. Nose to the grindstone and all that.

Either way, I'm excited to keep going. This has been a great start, and I am still writing even now. So thank you to anyone who reads this or comments.

My first ever Diamond 67 hrs in

Absolutely beautiful fallow with well set unique horns. Was not expecting it to be a diamond at all, and I shouted out in surprised. Love the pelt as well. I am surprised how low the cash was since some golds hit the same amount, but I am not hurting on money luckily. Either way, this was a funny find, especially in such an odd drinking spot.

Well that's frustrating

So yeah, I had found this beautiful high-quality moose in a rest zone, but I had alerted him. I decided to sneak up anyway and took a solid shot. He dropped fairly quickly. The issue is that I haven't gotten a single diamond yet at all, and he was roughly 4 to 5 points off. Now I have like 58 hours, I think, but this set me off so much because I was so sure it was a diamond I had essentially gaslit myself. I am really hoping I find and take down a diamond soon, but hey, what do you think of this beauty.
