Questions following our trip.
Hello. So I made the pilgrimage this year for the first time and want to make it a more common occurrence. I have a questions regarding some things we noticed and feel need some help with.
The camping was packed, we booked an Airbnb thankfully. How early did the camping get full for track side spaces? I want to return with a campervan next year. The journey was being made before the max verstappen hype which I think didn’t help camping by my understanding of talking to people trackside.
I learned the hard way that the track is not ideal for trying to walk the length with the Forrest areas. We made some mistakes like being on the infield side at fox hole. So a bike/motorbike I’m assuming is a must? But this brings me to the next point, is the bus always so busy? The queues put us off from waiting and getting on. We felt like we couldn’t waste any time and wanted to spend as much time as we could trackside.
Is the grid walk on Saturday worth it? (I know this may be different this year due to the extra crowd) we understood from some people that the grid walk and getting down to the track for the warm up make it hard to get a space to see the race start in the busy areas.
I’d like to add that it was an incredible experience and we had a fantastic time. Everyone was so friendly and just in great spirits. It was lovely to experience and made it so much better.
Also, restaurant Pistenklause in Nurburg was great! Very much so enjoyed it!
