Lack of zoning enforcement is destroying the city.

The link gives you A guide Of Nairobi City Development Ordinances And Zones . Please go through it and see how the city is going to the pits. Residential areas that were marked out as Low density (meaning single family homes) and those areas where residential apartments were restricted to 4 storeys max are now littered with apartments that are 8+ storeys. Accompanying infrastructure like sewage, electrical grid and roads are non existent. IDK about you lot but this is not good at all.

Jambojet Cabin Crew need better uniforms

Their current uniforms are just BAD, like super BAD. Almost all Wilson airlines have better uniforms than them. IDK how those uniforms ever passed quality control checks. They have those kinds of uniforms one would not want to wear outside work, like you always have to carry extra clothes to change into after work. So I'm proposing something new check it out. Also, if you know someone in the higher ups in Jambojet please show them this.

Nairobi (& Kenya) desperately needs a Metro(s)

As the capital grows, the need for a metro can no longer be ignored. A proper reliable metro will boost the economy of the capital and also bring down the ridiculous prices of housing in the city. Imagine being able to get to the CBD in under 15 minutes from Machakos or Kiambu. The metro lines shown were designed by a lady who has never been to Kenya at all.

Mombasa road looks depressing.

I usually use that road while going to the airport and all I can say is the whole stretch looks depressing. You have lorries parked on what's meant to be grass (just before Airtel), matatus and bodas just being uncivilized and the countless of vibandas. The whole thing looks like a war zone. Then kuna hapo kwa junction ya Enterprise road, watu hucross barabara the way they feel like na kuna footbridge right there.

Also another thing ni hapo Imaara mall. Those bodas use the wrong side of the road and some of them get hit.

How common is it in the U.S. for private individuals to own infrastructure like bridges, dams, or power plants?

I recently learned that the Ambassador bridge between you and Canada is owned by an individual (or his family). That got me wondering how common this is in the United States that certain pieces of infrastructure can be privately owned.

For example:

  • Can a private individual own a bridge and charge tolls?
  • Can someone own a dam and generate electricity from it?
  • Can a wealthy person or family own a power plant?
  • Are there examples of infrastructure that are privately owned but provide public services?
  • Is ownership usually by individuals, private companies, utilities, or government agencies?

Do most people find it normal that a private person owns critical infrastructure?

Professionalizing sports in Kenya

If any one of you was asked to come up with a way to professionalize sports in Kenya, how would you go about it?

I personally love the American method of having non-profit organisations governing / running different sports / leagues (e.g USTA, NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB). Also the counties need to do more in building pipelines to amateurs / pros without the national government's needless inputs.
