A team spokesperson told The Athletic the Blackhawks don’t yet have any “definitive updates” on Bedard’s situation and likely won’t have any official word until at least Monday.

Summary of Byram trade thoughts

Byram is a good player, maybe even a great player.

We overpaid for him.

Crevier was simultaneously our best defenseman and somehow also overrated

We should trust Kyle Davidson. Or fire him. Or somehow both.

We’re happy, we’re sad, somehow this will all work out, the sky is falling, it could be worse, the world is ending.

Levshunov over Demidov all over again.

Washington got Tuch for what low price now? How the fuck did we allow this to happen?

Crazy desperation obviously motivated by disdain for San Jose and crazy speculation on what they might do. Wait, the Rangers were involved too?

Are birds real? We haven’t had a lost hawk (the bird) enthusiast visit us in a while.

What’s the point of this post? Fuck if I know, but apparently we all need our own threads on Byram to stroke our own egos or something. There’s something cathartic about it or something.

Praise Lord Hossa, are we done yet? Screw it, I’m hungry, I’m going to go get some sushi.

NFS: Week of Mail Days

Well, I had quite a week and didn't really set out last week to end up acquiring 5 jerseys, but here we are...

Norfolk Admirals (Blackhawks Affiliation) - A cool find, a MiC retail replica XXL. Looks to be from the 2004-2007 timeframe based on the main crest. Looks like a fan name/number as I can't find any record of a player with the same name ever having played on the Admirals or for the Hawks in general. I'll probably end up stripping at least the nameplate eventually.

Chicago Blackhawks St. Patrick's Day - An Indo Authentic 2017-2019 Adidas St Patrick's Day jersey from 2017-2019.

Chicago Wolves - A MiC retail replica XXL, got for a steal off FB Marketplace, couldn't resist as they were in the Calder Cup, was hoping they'd come back for a game 6 but they lost in 5 and didn't come back from Toronto sadly.

Hartford Whalers (Carolina Hurricane Alternate) - They had 1 last FAP in stock on Fanatics in 58+, I couldn't resist. Not a Hurricanes fan but glad they beat Vegas, and I do have massive nostalgic love for the Whalers.

Chicago Blackhawks Away - Couldn't resist picking up this blank indo authentic from the 2011-2017 era, having extra blanks from the Cup run just seems right to have for future customization.

[Ben Pope] Blackhawks visited Chase Reid’s home & took him to dinner

I’d assume it’s just due diligence in case the forwards we’re targetting get taken before 4OA, but I feel like our fan base might flip its shit if we go defense again after the whole Levshunov over Demidov pick, especially if Reid didn’t immediately start showing impact.

Sounds like we did a sign and trade. Better than just losing his rights for nothing.

[ESPN] Which under-25 NHL players need a change-of-scenery trade? (Korchinski highlighted)

>Another pending RFA who has been passed on the depth chart, Korchinski is an obvious trade candidate for Chicago to use to acquire a skilled forward.
Korchinski will be 22 in June and has been passed by Artyom Levshunov and Sam Rinzel for power-play time and offensive opportunities. After playing the majority of the season in the AHL and producing admirably, Korchinski is the prime candidate to make a positive impact with a regular NHL opportunity. He beats defenders one-on-one, attacks the middle of the ice, drives offensive play and has the potential to be a top-four defenseman in the NHL.
Chicago has more depth on the right side, but Korchinski needs offensive reps to meaningfully impact the game, and that feels out of reach with this franchise.

I think this overlooks how Korchinski’s development was impacted by rules that forced him to play his entire first season in the NHL rather than in the AHL, but it’s not entirely wrong. We are loaded on RHD right now and players that got drafted at less favorable positions in the draft are outpacing him. Not sure I want to let him go at this stage considering we don’t really know what he can develop into but the right trade for him could definitely make sense overall.

[NFS] AHL Rockford IceHogs Garage Sale Haul

Picked up a few of the Rockford IceHogs' authentic theme night jersey blanks they had available at the garage sale today. Really the AHL does such an awesome job with theme jerseys. The throwback for the 90th AHL anniversary / 100th Blackhawks anniversary was definitely a welcome surprise to find.
