Anyone else here using illiwap?

And no, this is not a promotion or anything like that, I posted the same thing and ask France and it was taken down.

It aggregates all of the public notices from the various mayor’s offices near you. I find it kind of like next-door in America except there’s no comments or two-way exchange. It’s just a one-way feed of information. I’m wondering how many other folks are using it in different parts of France? And if you’re finding it useful?

Can this be salvaged?

I picked this up for 1€ at a flea market in France yesterday. It’s magnetic so I assume it’s carbon steel.

This will be my first carbon steel pan. I have restored copper cookware and cast-iron.

I assume I just start by sanding off the rust, getting it down to the bare metal and then seasoning and going from there?

There are no markings and the metal is fairly thin, which I assume is OK for carbon steel. The bottom may take a little bit of flattening out. Overall, I’m excited if this will come back to life!

Thanks for any tips or advice!

Ideas on how to replace nettles with flowers or plants that can prevent the nettles from taking over again in our sunny garden in France?

We have a big sunken sunny spot, the nettles love it. But it faces my wife’s workshop and she’d rather look at flowers.

We’ve tried some different things, the ornamental grass seem to be tough enough. We’d love something that makes the pollinators happy as well. With the nettles, it’s all about ripping out the roots, seems never ending.

Thanks!
