New and Completely Revised New York Statewide Siren Map

New and Completely Revised New York Statewide Siren Map

A new and completely revised New York Statewide Siren Map has been created, with the inclusion of previously unreleased testing times, updated and corrected locations which oppose other maps, as well as over 250 newly discovered locations which you can not currently find on any other publicly released New York Siren Map.

With over 2,300 pins, this map was done with the combined effort of ten individual users, therefore there is no sole creditor. If you have locations to add, please reply here, DM, or fill out the Google Form listed in the map description, and me or an editor will get back to you as soon as possible.

Currently, we are working on adding more photo/video media per each location, but that does not affect the accuracy of the locations. This map also does not include misnomer siren models, as other maps do, to help prevent the ruthless spread of false belief and misinformation. Upon inspection of all other known maps for the state, It can be concluded that many of them are in need of much work, but for the meantime, this map will serve as a reference.

Made by New Yorkers, for New Yorkers.

Researching for Siren Test Times in the Area

I am an outdoor warning siren enthusiast and expert who is working on a group project with other enthusiasts of mapping sirens in NY state that test, and I recently have hit a dead end on confirming test times with other available resources. We would greatly appreciate it if anyone here who knows of a siren testing time would let me know. To make an addition to the map, I would need the name of the FD or building, or a relative location that I can find the siren from on street view, and at what time the siren tests. Thank you!!

P.S.

NMP and Ginna siren tests are already known about.

In Need of Siren Testing Times Around the Area for a Project

I am an outdoor warning siren enthusiast and expert who is working on a group project with other enthusiasts of mapping sirens in NY state that test, and I recently have hit a dead end on confirming test times with other available resources. There is a huge hole on the map in the north country due to the lack of confirmed test times. We would greatly appreciate it if anyone here who knows of a siren testing time would let me know. To make an addition to the map, I would need the name of the FD or building, or a relative location that I can find the siren from on street view with, and at what time the siren tests. Thank you!!

Removed Sirens of New York Statewide Map

This is a long worked on map for all known removed sirens in the state of New York. I and various other contributors have worked to make this map possible. On this map, currently as of making this post, we are nearing 2,000 pins. Sirens that can be seen here are for CD systems, fire department siren systems, and Nuclear Plant systems. Much of the information on here has heretofore not been shared to the public.

Anyway, here's the map link; https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1dsHAPHrXpzqg5F4zCGORg-wWnUyA5Pc&ll=43.47047103811233%2C-75.44035993507686&z=7

Feel free to share locations on this as well! And thanks for viewing.
