Extreme 5500 CAPE setup for May 10th - Expecting a dangerous QLCS transition in Central Texas despite the 2% tornado risk on the SPC Day 1 Convective Outlook.

Definitely going to be a QLCS in central Texas, even could hit Dallas with the right directions, could be a low-end QLCS but QLCS tornadoes are definitely going to happen and they are more common and dangerous than you think. I think the cape can fuel up tornadoes inside these squall lines, they are rotating updrafts after all. While they are typically lower-end (EF0-EF1) and short-lived, they are highly dangerous because they form rapidly, often at night, and sometimes occur between radar scans. These are commonly underestimated which is a fact about these Squall line tornadoes. Stay safe, residents, travelers, and chasers, don't let the "2% chance of tornadoes" fool you during a QLCS! 🌪

  • Rapid Development: They can form in as little as 5–10 minutes, often giving very little warning time compared to supercell tornadoes.
  • Nocturnal Threat: These systems frequently occur at night or in the early morning, making them harder to see and more dangerous for residents who are sleeping.
  • Precipitation-Wrapped: They are often "rain-wrapped," making them nearly invisible to the naked eye.
  • Commonality: QLCS tornadoes account for approximately 20% of all tornadoes in the United States.
  • CAPE Levels: Those 5500 J/kg CAPE pockets are massive—basically high-octane rocket fuel for the atmosphere. When you have that much instability meeting a advancing front, a QLCS isn't just likely; it's almost a certainty; can turn a standard squall line into a significant QLCS tornado producer.

Enhanced for May 10th, only a 2% chance of tornadoes but massive 5500 cape patches on the NAM model prove a possibly dangerous QLCS with tornadoes coming Texas' way

"Brian, we really do not want you as a user" — Found this classic SDS customer service gem — RadarOmega reviews on the Google Play Store

Found this classic screenshot. Imagine paying for a pro radar app, giving legitimate feedback about UI scaling bugs on tablets and the missing radar timestamps, and the dev's response is basically "Go away, here’s your money back." Brian was literally just pointing out how bulky the graphics looked in landscape mode and they went full nuclear on him. 😂 Has anyone else ever been "fired" as a customer for reporting a bug?

FYI this review is not mine and it's from 2019

What do you guys think is being built at 972 El Camino Real?

There was an abandoned Burger King in that spot but recently there's work being done on it, today I saw the whole building is demolished and the pavement is wiped off. They could be building a whole new thing there, but I just don't know what, a reinforced brand-new Burger King? Or a different placement? I did see a post on Reddit of a proposal to place a In-N-Out there but me and the people that go by this area a lot know the traffic we already get especially in the morning can make those insane In-N-Out lines become problematic and the traffic will be worse, especially for transit and Uber/Lyft by South San Francisco Highschool as students arrive in rideshare or parents just trying to get their way in into the parking lot from the pack of traffic, I'm a freshmen at SSFHS here and I see a lot of traffic in the morning when I go to school, traffic still happens after school but it's not as bad, sometimes it does get as long as one block. Aside from the school that's nearby, overall the traffic can possibly get worse as a New restaurant + it's In-N-Out = A TON OF CUSTOMERS filling up the drive through. If it is IN-N-OUT then our traffic is cooked to medium rare 😭 anyways, South City, what do you think it could be? I'm definitely thinking it's either In-N-Out or a reinforced modern Burger King.
